    French and Indian war

    The French and Indian war is very important in this because a lot of the time when the British had been taxing the colonist it was so they could pay off the debt from this war that happened. The taxes were a very big part of the American revolution.
  • Sugar act

    Sugar act
    • This was one of the first taxes that happened to colonist from the British that started triggering the colonist.
    • This was basically a way for the British to gain money to pay for what is due for the French and Indian War , but they are taking it from the colonist.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    • This was one of the first direct tax on American colonies and made sure every legal document had to have a special stamp on it.
    • This caused colonists to be mad because they believe the British should not be able to tax them.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    • This act made the American colonies have to provide food and shelter for the British troops.
    • This made colonists angry as well because they would have to pay taxes for things like provisions and barracks for the army.
  • The townshed acts

    The townshed acts
    • The Townshend acts were a series of different acts that were filled with the British taking away rights from the colonists putting more taxes on different things like imports of paper ,glass, and tea.
    • This just angered the colonist so much more because the British were continuing to control them and they had no choice which just made the colonists madder.
  • The Boston tea party

    The Boston tea party
    Governor Thomas Hutchinson had allowed 3 ships with colonists and a lot of tea in the Boston Harbor. Then the people on the ship just threw all the tea into the harbor. This was because colonists were tired of being treated fairly by the British and they believe the reason they are taxing them is to pay off for the French and Indian War.
    - This event made the British very mad that they would do this at all.

    • These were a bunch of acts made by the British because they were furious that the colonist would do that with the tea. -These caused the colonist to be mad more too since these laws closed the Boston Harbor and just forcibly doing stuff to the colonist
