French and Indian War
It ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1763. Great Britain had many gains in North America. The debt from this war helped lead to the American Revolution. -
British and French ended Seven Year war
France, Britain, Portugal, and Spain sign the Treaty of Paris and split the lands. It helped expanded their property. British established colonies in America. -
Stamp Act passed by British
British in debt and had to pay it back, but didn’t have any funds for it. They imposed on many colonies in America and made them pay taxes. -
Stamp Act was repealed
All the money was being taken away from the colonies and they became very mad. The British repealed this act and it was a big start to separating from the British. -
Townshend act was passed
This way another way for the British to make money. The British started to tax many things. The colonists again were angry because of the more and more taxes they had to pay. -
Boston Massacre took place
Many killings and boycotts happened, one turned into the Boston Massacre. It only had 4 deaths. This was when the colonists starting taking things in their own hands. -
The Boston Tea Party
Massachusetts patriots dresses as Indians. They protested against the British Tea Act and dumped crates of tea into Boston Harbor. This was one of the major things that the colonists did as it resulted in the loss of lots of money. -
First Continental Congress established
Consisted of 12 British-American states that were together to talk about unfair taxes and ways they can solve problems with the British. This was the first time all states were together except Georgia. -
Lexington and Concord Battle took place
This battle became a viewpoint for the start of all battles in the Revolution. The British tried to steal supplies from Massachusetts, but they were spotted before they could. -
Bunker Hill battle took place
This was a key battle. The British officially won this battle, but the colonists used it as a boost even though they were less experienced than the British. -
Declaration of Independence was approved
Thomas Jefferson had his Declaration of Independence approved and it ended the ties with Britain. They fully separated from Britain and the states all became the United States of America.
