French and Indian war
With many European countries having chunks of land in North America, France and England wanted to take the most they could possibly take to expand, starting conflict which eventually led to a full out war not just in North America, but other continents as well. The British finally claimed victory after they and the French signed the Treaty of Paris, with England taking over all of the French land which spread all the way to most of Canada. -

First Continental Congress sends petition to the king
