The British and the French ended the seven year war.France,Britain,Portugal and Spain sign a treaty of Paris and split lands.Another event that was a result of this was that the British established colonies in the Americas. -
The stamp act was passed by the British.
After the war the British were in dept and had to pay it back.Therefore they imposed many taxes on the people,especially colonies in the America.One of the major and most memorable tax was the stamp act. -
The stamp act was repealed
On march 18,the people were outraged with this as all the wealth and money was tried to be taken away from the colonies -
The Townshend act was passed
As another way of making money and seeing the potential of taxes on the Americans colonies.The British started to tax various foods and other necessities,prohibiting justice and possible development of freedom within the colonies.This once again angered the American colonists. -
Boston massacre
It furthered incensed colonist already weary of British rule and unfair taxation and roused them to fight for independence. -
The Boston tea party
It was a protest against the Boston tea act by dumping crates of tea into the Boston Harbor.This was one of the most drastic action that the colonist did as tea was the only product left with tax and they protested against the British by dumping it all in the water. -
The first Continental Congress was established
This Congress consisted of 12 British-American states that came together to discuss the unacceptable and unjust taxes and ways of solving issues with the British. This is the first occasion where almost all states,except Georgia came together collectively and formed the first idea of the United States of America. -
The battles of Lexington and Concord took place
The British forces tried to seize military supplies from Massachusetts, yet they were spotted and suffered many casualties. This inspired people and sparked the true war between the two nations. -
The Bunker Hill battle
It was important because it was used as training ground for what was to come by the inexperienced American troops against the experienced British Army.But the enemy suffered very much from thus battle and became weaker. -
The Declaration of Independence
On July 4th Thomas Jefferson's Declaration of Independence ratified by the the second Continental Congress and vote to end their ties and fully separate from Britain. This is the official first time when all the states become the United States of America.
