    He was the one who actually wrote the Declaration Of Independence. He was also the America's first secretary of state. The Second Vice Presedent, and the 3rd President of the United States of America.
  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    Where the French were moving down south to get land, and the British were moving west to get more land. They ended up fighting in the Mississippi River and the British ended up winning. The Indians and Native Americans mostly helped the French in the war.
  • Marquis de Lafayette

    He was born in Chavaniac France in 1757. He served in the Continental Army. Providing leadership while also securing vital resources from France.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    It was after the French and Indian war and the British made it so that the colonists couldn't go settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. The colonists were not happy at all with this.
  • Sugar Act

    It was where the British had no money so they started taxing the 13 colonies. This tax was that anything with sugar in or on it would be taxed and the colonists had to pay it.
  • Townshend Acts

    They were a series of laws passed by the British government that taxed tea, paper, lead, glass, paint, and a lot more stuff. The colonists actually hated all the taxed put on them because they were so dumb and there were so many of them.
  • Boston Massacre

    A battle in Boston Massachusetts. A mad mob of colonists went and pressured the British troops. One of the generals went to talk to the angry mob, and the mob said something about shoot, so one of the British soldiers shot because he thought they were orders. Several colonists were killed.
  • Tea Act

    It was the last of the horrible taxes. It was where everyone who bought tea had to pay and extra tax. The colonists were already done/ hated all the other taxes so they didn't really like this one either.
  • Boston Tea Party

    It was where a bunch of colonists called the Sons of Liberty, dressed up as Indians and boarded a British ship and dumped all the tea into the Boston Harbor. They did this because they hated the taxes that were put on them, they thought it was unfair, and it was.
  • First Continental Congress

    The first continental congress was where 12 out of the 13 colonies met in Carpenter's Hall Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They met talk about the Coercive Acts. It was at an early stage in the American Revolution.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Laws passed by the British parlaiment a little after the Boston Tea Party. In Britain they were called the Ceorcive Acts. They were passed by Britain, because colonists weren't really following rules.
  • Lexington And Concord

    Lexington And Concord
    It was where the colonists were stashing weapons up at concord around Boston Massachusetts. The British found out and they headed up there to go collect all the weapons. The colonists heard that the British were coming, so they got all the weapons and were ready for a fight. No one shot at first but then some random person fired and then they started fighting. It was known as the shot heard round the world.
  • Second Continental Congress

    It was a convention between the 13 colonies a little after the American Revolution start. They established the Continental Army because of this, they made George Washington general of the Army. They tried for peace again by sending the Olive Branch Petition to the King of Britain.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Early in the American Revolutionary War, The British defeated the Americans in the battle in Massechussets. Even thought they lost the Americans managed to go down with a lot of British casualties. Provided the Americans with a confidence boost.
  • Common Sense

    Thomas Paine wrote this pamphlet to Britain telling them what was wrong with their government or way of controlling and listed common sense things that they should do, like not taxing them for because they live in the 13 colonies, like come'on that is just common sense, and that is pretty much what it was.
  • Battle of Trenton

    It was won by the American forces. The Americans had around 2,400 soldiers of the Continental Army and lead by George Washington, and the British had around 1,400
  • Declaration Of Independence

    It was wrote by Thomas Jefferson in 1776 and also by the Continental Congress. The 13 colonies thought that they were treated poorly, they felt like they weren't free. They wanted freedom and that is exactly what they got with this Declaration. In this they declared independence.
  • The Battle of Saratoga

    It was a major turning point in the American Revolution. British and Hessians surrendered their arms to the Americans. Within days the American Forces had the British sorrounded. It was a very crucial point/ battle in the American Revolution.
  • Siege of Yorktown

    Also known as the Battle of Yorktown was a surrender of the British, because both sides of the war have been fighting for so long that they were both tired and the British just said that it wasn't worth fighting for and they pretty much just surrendered and gave up.
  • Treaty Of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris was written by representatives of King George III and the representatives of America to conclude the American Revolution. It officially ended the war, permanently.
