A plan to create a unified government for the thirteenth colonies.This was created in 1754. It was placed to the British North American colonies under a more centralized government. -
Quartering Act
The Quartering Act was two British Laws that were designed to force local colonial governments to provide provisions and housing to British soldiers stationed in the 13 Colonies of America . Colonists felt as if it violated the 1689 English Bill of Rights. This was one of the events that caused the American Revolution. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament. It was passed on March 22, 1765. It required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used. -
Townshend Act
Series of 1767 laws named for Charles Townshend, British chancellor of the Exchequer. These laws placed new taxes on glass, lead, paints, paper and tea. This law was passed in June of 1767. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a riot in Boston arising from the resentment of Boston colonists toward British troops quartered in the city, in which the troops fired on the mob and killed several people. This occurred on March 5, 1770 . Also, this was remembered as a key event in helping to galvanize the colonial public to the patriot cause. -
Tea Act
A law set in place that would reduce the massive amount of tea held by the financially troubled British East India company in its London warehouses and to help the struggling company survive. Colonists were angry because they had to pay taxes. -
Boston Tea Party
Raid on 3 British ships in which Boston Colonial disguised as Indians threw several hundred chests of tea into the harbor as a protest. This was on December 16, 1773 -
Intolerable Act
Harsh laws that were meant to punish American colonists for the Boston Tea Party and other protests. This was passed by British Parliament in 1774. This is also called Coercive Acts. -

First great battle of the Revolutionary War. They fought near Boston. The British drove Americans from their fort. -

The first military engagements of the American Revolutionary War. This was on April 19, 1775. This was the first battle of the American Revolutionary War.
