    Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 established a boundary that the colonists could not cross. The line was the Appalachian Mountains. The colonists didn't listen and crossed the line, disobeying Britain

    The Stamp Act taxed newspapers among other things. It was the colonists' punishment for breaking the Proclamation of 1763. The colonists were upset with the new taxes.

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was a riot gone wrong that ended with shots fired. The redcoats claim it's the colonists' fault, and the colonists claim it on the redcoats. There were deaths.

    The Tea Act taxed tea, glass, lead, oil, paint, and paper. The Tea Act was created to give the British more money. The colonists were even more upset with the new taxes.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party was a rebellion act against the British. The Sons & Daughters of Liberty dressed up as Native Americans and dumped a shipment of tea into the Boston Harber. The British were furious with the waste of tea.
  • The Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable Acts
    There were 4 Intolerable Acts. First, the Boston Port Act made it so no ships could come in or out of Boston Harbor. Second, the Massachusetts Government Act made it so Massachusetts couldn't have its own government. Third, the Act of Impartial Administration made it so there were no fair or free trials. And finally, the Quartering Act made it so there was no private property, and soldiers could come to anyone's house and do whatever they wanted. The colonists were upset again with the new laws.

    The British troops' goal at Lexington and Concord was to collect the American weapons stockpiles. The militia and minutemen heard about this and moved their weapons. At Lexington, a shot was fired that started the first battle. The colonists were extremely upset they were shot at.

    The British won the battle because the colonists ran out of ammo. The colonists may have lost, but the British suffered many casualties. The colonists were hopeful that they could win since they would've.
  • Common Sense

    Common Sense
    Common Sense by Tomas Paine was written to convince the colonists to become patriots. In Common Sense, it gives numerous reasons why they should become their own country such as an island shouldn't run a continent, insulting King George for being brutish & undeserving of the colonist respect, and America had a moral obligation to be independent. This helped convince the colonists to join the Sons & Daughters of Liberty.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. It states that all men have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It also decreed that the colonies would be their own country. This started the official beginning of the American Revolution.

    Colonists won after attacking and retreating which weakened the British troops. Washington ambushed on Christmas cease-fire and won.

    Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys helped Benedict Arnold. It was eighty-three Americans vs one sleeping guard. No one was killed

    There were two battles of Saratoga. The British won due to Hessian reinforcements. The Continental Army won the second battle fighting like the British. This convinced France to join the war.

    Continental Army Wintering Valley Forge

    The Continental Army wintered in Valley Forge for six months. They were trained by Baron Von Steuben. Washington stopped deserters from leaving and stopped any mutinies from happening.

    Southern Campaign

    British forces hoped they could recruit slaves and thought they could get shelter from the loyalists. The Americans and the British fought at the Siege of Savannah, the Battle of Charleston, and the Battle of Camden. The British won all three battles.

    Battle of Yorktown

    The British chose Yorktown because of its resources, and it was coastal, so their navy could be there too. General Washington's and General Lafayette's platoons surrounded the British by land, while the French navy surrounded them by sea. The Americans won, winning the war.
