The battle of Saratoga was so significant because the British Commander was forced to surrender. This brought great news for the colonists. -

This was the climax of the American Revolution. It gave the Americans a victory of the British in the colonies. -

Many soldiers stayed at the Valley Forge camp for their survival. Sadly, more than 2000 soldiers died because of the cold winter. -
Early British Victories
The British invaded New York city in the summer of 1776 with about 32,000 soldiers. The poorly equipped colonists retreated. Later on, the battle of Saratoga happened in 1777 where American Troops surrounded the British Army and made them surrender. The Battle of Saratoga was one of the most significant battles of the American Revolution. -

Many of these French generals helped the colonits train for war. As a result, the Statue of Liberty was given as a gift to America from France. -
British Victories in the South
After the loss in Saratoga, the British moved South hoping that they could control some land. A year passes by, and the French and Colonists make the British soldiers surrender. These events led to the treaty of paris. -
British surrender at Yorktown
Cornwallis was planning to fortify Yorktown, and take over Virginia, but was stopped by the armiesof Lafayette and Washington. The British surrendered later that year. -
Treaty of Paris
Confirmed that the United States is its own independent state setting the boundaries from the Canada border to the Missippi river.
