.The charter was granted by King Charles the second. The document ensured that colonists had freedom and religion and they were able to govern their own colony. -

Proclamation Line Announced
The Proclamation Line forbade all settlement across the Appalachian Mountains. This kept the colonists from angering the indians. -
Stamp Act
The French and Indian war was very expensive, therefore the British Parliament passed the stamp act. It required the colonists to pay taxes for any printed documents. The colonists became angry and repealed against the act. -
Quartering Act Passed
The Quartering Act allowed British soldiers to force colonists into letting them stay, sleep, and eat at the colonists house. -
Boston Massacre
After many colonists were angry and annoyed at the British Soldiers, a colonist threw ice at a soldier. This made the soldiers very angry, and they then shot and killed five male civilians, and injured six others. -
Burning Of The Gaspee
Angry colonists burned a British revenue ship called the "Gaspee." The colonists never got directly punished for the burning. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was when the Sons of Liberty, disguised as indians, threw an entire shipment of tea sent by the East India Company into the water, destroying it. This was a show of rebellion against the Tea Act. -
Intolerable Acts
During this year these acts were created. These acts meant to punish the colonists for their rebellion consisted of the Quartering Act, Port Bill, limits on town meetings, and British officials being tried in England for crimes committed in the colonies. -

During this year, the Katy was used under the name of the Katy. Later, it was called the USS Providence, which lasted from 1775 until 1779. This boat was the very start of the US navy, as it was the first boat to fire at the British. -

John Eldred And When He Died
John Eldred was both an English traveller and merchant. He shot odd objects out of a cannon towards the British ships in the bay that were terrorising the colonists. -
