  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    Tax on all legal documents. They required that a stamp be bought for all legal documents and other things. This act marked the beginning of the organized composition to British rule.

    Townshend Act
    Named after Britian's cheif financial officer, Charles Townshend, this act was used for 'the support of civil government' in the colonies. The parliament puts duties on imported goods.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    A drunken mob harasses British soldiers who then fire their muskets poinblank into the crowd killing three intantly, wounding 2 others, and injuring 6. This was kniwn as the first bloodhsead.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    On the night of December 16, 1773, colonists disguised themselves as indians. They went aboard the three ships, broke open the crates, and dumped 45 ton of tea into the ocean.

    Many of the same people from the first one. Some of the new people were Ben Franklin, John Hancock, and Thomas Jefferson. Some wanted to foght, others didnt.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    The troops occupied 2 hills north of Boston, Breed Hill and bunker. British army attacked , and launched 3 assaults on patriots. On the thrid attack british sicceded and captured Breed and Bunker Hill, the patriots used up all the amunition and had to retreat. British won the battle but lost 2,400 men.
  • Olive Branch Petition

    Olive Branch Petition
    This was the final attempt to avoid a full-on war between the thirteen colonies the colonists represented. The petition confirmed the American loyalty to Great Britain.
  • Common Sense is published

    Common Sense is published
    Publish in 1776, "Common Sense' challenged the authority of the British government. This document exspressed both levels of the revolution. It suggested anyone can understand the conflict between Great Britain and the colonists.

    Document written by Thomas Jefferson, it states the reasons of independence of the colinies, need to be free. this document was divided into four parts. Broke us off from england.
  • Trenton

    George Washington decided to sneak attack the British across delaware river.
  • Battle at Saratoga

    Battle at Saratoga
    Another British army led by Gen Burgoyneobjectives was to cut New England off the colonies. They were not happy with Burgoyne's idea and retreated his path. While they retreated they tore down trees to slow down his forces. In mif spetember Burgoyne surrendered.
  • Yorktown

    Yorktown
    Washington's troops joined Layfayette's troops. Britain is forced to face an army twice their size of their own. Britain suffered many casualties. Unable to escape Britain surrendered to Washington on October 19.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    Formally ended the Revolutionary war. Great Britain, France, Spain, and the US were all involved in war. This was an agreement that colonists were now free and independent from ENgland. It was officially on their own.
