Outcome of the French and Indian War
The French and Indian war was a dispute over New World territory between Britain and France. Britain won in the end and they gained a lot of territory, but it left them poor and needing money. They would look to their New World colonies to help with this issue. -
The Stamp Act
The Stamp act was the 1st direct tax on legal documents, news papers, etc. imposed by Britain. It was meant to help Britain pay some of their debts from the war but the colonists didnt like taxtation without representation so they protested and boycotted and the tax was repealed after a year.ff -

The Boston massacre was a tragic event that came as a result of rising tensions between the British and the Colonists. 5 Colonists were shot in the streets of Boston by British soldiers after an almost violent confrontation with a crowd of colonists. This was one of the main events that lead to the American Revolution. -
The Boston Tea Party and The Intolerable Acts
The Boston Tea Party was a protest against the tax on tea by american colonists. They dressed up as Native Americans and went on a tea shipping boat and threw the boxes of imported tea into the Boston harbor. Great Britain retaliated by making the Intolerable Acts, which were five laws that mostly gave Britain more power over Massachusetts and also Ohio for some reason -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
The British planned to take the colonists stashed weapons, and in Lexington the Colonists engaged with them. They proceeded to move to Concord where they found the colonists stashed weapons and supplies and destroyed them. -
The Declaration of Independence
The declaration of independence was when all of the founding fathers signed a document saying that the colonies were their own country separate from Britain, showing that they had no intent to ever work this out with Britain and that they were going to win the war. -
Battle of Saratoga
The Colonists fought with Britain over Albany, and managed to push them back, and make them surrender 6000 British troops to the colonies. This event finally managed to convince France to help the Colonies, which gave them a much better chance . -
Battle of Valley Forge
This was a battle fought between Washington's troops and the harsh winter. Washington and his troops were dealing with terrible weather, food shortages, and a spreading infection of smallpox, and they were not getting enough support from congress. Finally, after communicating with some congressmen, they finally got the support they needed, and were sent food, better gear, and proper treatment for the ill. Even a mercenary to train up the inexperienced troops. -
The Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris marked the end of the revolution as Britain acknowledges the US as an Independent nation. US merchants had to pay British merchants the money they owed them and British loyalists could reclaim their property. And Spain got Florida. yay.
