This event happened when the British Parliament decided to tax everything paper related so that they could pay off their debts. This was not appealing to the colonists and they fought back in mobs and protests. This is an asymmetrical event because the British thought that the colonist would pay the tax but they didn't and instead they fought back against it.

Boston Massacre
This event happened when a group of colonists started to taunt the British soldiers guarding the Customs House. The soldiers were ordered to fix their bayonets and be ready to fire. when they were doing that they started to get hit with snowballs. One soldier got hit and that caused him to discharge his rifle into the crowd of people. This made the other soldiers fire. -
Boston Tea Party
This event happened when Boston merchants refused to concede to Patriot pressure and Sons Of Liberty boarded 3 ships and dumped 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. This is an asymmetrical event because the colonists dropped the tea into the harbor and they expected the British to fight back but they didn't.

This event happened after the Stamp Act, Sugar Act , and Townshend Act. It was one of the battles that started the war.This battle was an American victory. This is a symmetrical event because the continental army fought the British and the British fought back. This is an symmetrical event because the colonists expected the British to fight and they did.

Bunker (Breed's) Hill
This event actually took place mainly on Breed's hill. As a result of this battle 200 soldiers killed and more than 800 were wounded. In all more than 100 Americans perished and more than 300 were wounded.

A man named Thomas Paine wrote a pamphlet about how we need independence from England and the creation of a democratic republic. This pamphlet sold over 120,000 copies. This is a symmetrical event because the man that wrote this wanted American independence and he got it.

This event happened when the colonists wanted to completely break from Great Britain. A group of 4 men consisting of Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Robert Livingston were assigned to drafting the document.This is an symmetrical event because the colonists wanted independence and they got it with out fight.

Battle at Trenton/Princeton
These events happened one after another. The battle of Trenton happened on December 26 and the Battle of Princeton happened on January 3. These events are a symmetrical because the colonists defeated the British and at the battle of Princeton the British thought that you fight head on but the colonists marched right past them without them knowing.

This event happened on September 19, and October 7, 1777. They were 2 separate battles but the word Saratoga is shorthand for 2 battles.

Continental Army Wintering At Valley Forge
This event happened after major defeats against the British. This lasted from 177-1778. This winter was especially brutal. Hundreds of soldiers died from disease during the time they where there.

This event happened in 1780 and was a huge lose to the Continental Army. The British took more than 3,000 patriots along with the victory. And they only lost 250 men. This event is symmetrical because the Continental Army thought that they would win this battle like every other one battle but they were wrong and they lost.

This event happened after George Washington ordered siege in the town of Yorktown, Virginia. This event ended the war when British General Charles Cornwallis surrendered to the patriots.
