Navigation acts
The navigation acts were made by Parliament to promote the self-sufficiency of Britain, a restricted colonial trade to England. -
French and Indian War ends
England and the seven American colonies beat France and their Native American allies. Britain wasted all of their money on this war and thought that the colonies should participate in paying it back. -

The stamp act required colonist to pay taxes on any bit of paper that was purchased or that they used. -

After the French and Indian war Britain was in a lot of debt. To pay off this debt parliament taxed the colonists over in America. The sons of liberty, a group of men, took it into their own hands to fight back. They dressed up as Indians and threw the tea overboard. -

This took away self government rights -
First Continental Congress

Lexington and Concord
The night before this battle, Paul Revere made his famous midnight run, saying “The British are coming!”. Which he didn’t actually say, and also doesn’t make sense. The colonists still considered themselves to be British. These were the first battles of the war, with the British winning. -

The second Congress was called upon due to the start of the war. This group prepared for the war. -

9/28/1781-10/19/1781 This was a huge American victory, they won after they outnumbered and out fought the British with their French allies. This was a three week battle. -

The US constitution was drafted and started being written in 1787 mainly drafted by James Madison. -
U.S. Constitution adoption
This is when the document was officially signed, and 39 out of 55 delegates signed the constitution. One that refused to sign had a the reasoning of it protected slavery.
