Boston Massacre
he Boston Massacre was caused by the colonists and British soldiers growing hate for each other. The colonists because they did not like being controlled by a king they never saw. And the soldiers because they did not like dealing with rowdy citizens. When the American mobs started pelting the British with rocks the soldiers opened fire killing five colonists. This fired up a lot of colonist as the event was portrayed as Evil British soldiers firing into an unarmed crowd. -

The Boston Tea Party was when the colonist decided to dress up as Indians and dump all the British's tea into the water because the taxes were too high. By doing that the British companies were likely to go out of business since they had so much unsold tea This event was important because the British lost all their tea, and the Colonist got what they wanted the British to loss tea. First Meeting of the Constitutional Congress
n May 1774 the colonist had their first 1st Constitutional Congress meeting. In that meeting representatives from each colony except Georgia met in Philadelphia. They met to discuss their rights and what the British were doing to them they also decided they were going to meet May 1775. But they did not discuss their freedom from Britain at that meeting. This was the first effective meeting of the colonists new government. -

The long term reason this occurred was George Washington had been losing battles and men for several months and was then being forced back by general William Howe. The short term cause was the season was turning and becoming winter and the camp at valley forge was easily defended. The effect on the war was the colonies did not have any trained soldiers until now and now they a fighting force that could stand up to the British professionals. -
