Influenza Epidemic
The first casa of influenza in the United States was reported at a military base in Kansas. The virus spread throughout the U.S., and the world due to the transportation of troops form WWI. The Pandemic ended in April of 1920 when people built up immunity and the virus ended. -

Schenck distributed a flyer opposing the draft, which under the espionage act was illegal. The Court ruled in favor of the Espionage Act, said the Act was lawful and did not inhibit the first amendment. -

President Warren G. Harding’s Secretary of Interior accepted bribes from oil tycoons and gave them land rights for oil drilling on federal land. The scandal ended in 1923. -

The Great Depression
Once the stock market crashed, it decimated the United States economy, and due to the gold standard the economic depression entered Europe and was felt worldwide. People lost their jobs and were struggling to put food on the table. The Great Depression ended in 1939.
