    The Founding of the Americas (Spaniards)
    When Columbus and his Spaniards accidentally landed in the Americas instead of Asia, they realized they were on new land and were meeting new people. The Spaniards had a few things they wanted from the natives: they wanted gold, they wanted to trade with the indians, and they wanted to convert them into Christians. The Spaniards came to the Americas with a different intention than the English. The Spaniards led with swords and force.

    When the Puritans came to the Americas there intensions were a little different than the Spaniards. They came to the Americas leading with their Bibles and they were about peace not brute force. They wanted the natives to change their ways right on the spot and be just like them. They wanted them to become Christians.

    By 1732 there were 13 original British Colonies. Those 13 colonies were the foundation to the United States today. All 13 were under the British rule.They werent treated properly and they majorly relied on the British for being protected and for their trade.

    The Great Awakening was basically the time when the peoples eyes opened about the churches and the people started gaining some confidence about what they actually believe in. They didnt have to follow the churches and feel like they were under the pope and the church.

    Sugar Act-the govornment passed this act for no good reason...because they could was the ultimate reason but it put a tax on all sugar
    Stamp Act-again just like above...govornment passed it because they can and it forced all people to put stamps on certain items that the govornment chose

    The Revolutionary War was bad because it was a war obviously but it had to be done to give us Freedom as a country. This war ultimately created the United States of America. This war went from 1775-1783 until the Peace Treaty was signed by British forces surrendering thus we win.

    Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense to try to get people to actually want independance and fight for it. Would the people want to be ruled over for their whole lives or have independance and have the lives that they desire.

    Delegates from 12 different states came together in a group and created the Constitution which formed our new and better govornment. The new govornment was one but divided into 3 groups: Judicial, Executive, and Legislative.

    The Constitution arguably might be the biggest change in America ever out of anything. The Constitution gave every person their righhts from whited to blacks. Then came the Bill of Rights which was also known as the 1st Amendment.

    The Market Revolution was a special time because instead of making everything for themselves, they could just go to the market place and buy the clothes,food, and supplies that their household needed. This tremendously helped the conomy and it also created new jobs for people.

    The Homestead Act was huge because it offered cheap land and in a way a new start to anybody so it persuaded many people to move to America.

    The Emancipation Proclomation was issued by Abraham Lincoln and a few others, it was directed at the remaining Confederate states stating that they are forced to free all slaves no matter what the circumstances were.

    The Civil War caused a huge outbreak and split up in the United States. The states were split into Confederates (BAD) and the Union (GOOD). The Confederates decided not to do whats right and listen to Abraham Lincoln so a war started because of there decision. And of course the Union was to powerful for the Confederates who were defeated.

    Back then transportation was nothing like todays transportation. Today we have cars, trucks, tanks, planes, cruise ships, just monumental achievements. Back then a big achievement was the steamboat,it was better for trade and was thought as pretty fast. That was a joke compared to the Railroad. Railroads were way faster than steamboats,was easier to load supplies on for trade and such, and it stretched across the whole United States like a spider web.

    With more people settling it increased the industry majorly. And industry increased new technology and new developements. For example Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. Just look at what we have today: phones, cars, the internet, submarines, planes. Its really incredible if you think of the progress we've gone through.

    People first settled only on the East side of America. When Columbus reached the new world he had no idea how far it stretched, it was new territory for everybody. But people started to get curious and wanted to get new fresh land away from all the people. People clashed with the Natives along nthe way.

    Social Darwinism was a movement that helped people realize that competing for your job should be allowed. It keeps you willing to work and actually trying so the next person doesnt snatch your job and money.

    The Sherman Antitrust Act was passed to give everyone a fair buisiness chance no matter the color of your skin. It was succesful back then and is still very succesfull today because it forces people to try for their jobs and be a responsible human being so you dont get fired.

    Back around the 1900 era was a time of severe segregation against the blacks. they were treated just like dirt, slaves, like they werent even real people. Whites wouldnt even go to the bathroom, school, even ride the same bus as a black person. Things were also unfair for them because they couldnt vote and they had the Poll Tax and Annual Tax that also went against them.

    The Gentlemen's Agreement
    The Gentlemen's Agreement was an agreement between the United States and the Japanese that was put forth to stop Japanese people from sneaking to merica and trying to get jobs ove here. Competition was getting fierce and the jobs were starting to get limited.
