  • The Car

    The first automobiles capable of human transport was invented in the year 1876. It was a steam engined automobile. The first cars powered by an internal combustion engine running on fuel gas was invented in 1806.
  • Telephone

    The telephone was invented in 1876. It was invented by Alexander Bell. In 1877 he formed the Bell Telephone Company.
  • Radio

    The radio was invented by Nikolai Tesla. Radio technology began as "wireless telegraphy". Radio signals go through free space by electromagnetic waves called radio waves.

    The Great Migration

    The Great Migration was the movement of 6 million African Americans our of rural Southern United States to Northeast, midwest, and west from 1910 to 1970.Some historians differentiate between the first Great Migration and a secon migration. The first Great Migration being from 1910-1930 and the second Great Migration from 1940-1970.
  • The 18th Amendment

    The 18th Amendment banned the manufacture, sale, and transportation of alcohol (beginning of Prohibition). In over 200 years of the U.s. Constitution the 18th Amendment remains the only Amendment to be repealed. It was repealed by the 21st Amendment.
  • The 19th Amendment

    The 19th Amendment was ratified on August 18th 1920. It prohibits any United States citizen to be denied the right to vote baseed on sex. The Constitution allows the states to determine the qualifications for voting and untill the 1910s most states disenfranchised women.
  • Emergency Quota Act

    This act happened on MAy 19th 1921. It is also known as Emergency Immigration Act of 1921. The act ristricted the number of immigrants admitted from any country annually to 3% of the number of residents from that same country living in the United States as of the U.S Census of 1910.
  • The Immigration Act 1924

    This law was enacted may 26,1924.This Act was also known as the Johnson-Reed Act. This was the United States Federal Law that limited the annual number of immigrants who can be admitted from any country to 2% of the number of people from that country who were already living in the United States in 1890 down from the 3% cap set by the Immigration Restriction Act of 1921 according to the Census of 1890.

    The first T.V system was built in 1926. It was built by J.L Baird. But the first broadcasting of T.V pictures didn't begin until 1935.
  • Black Thursday

    Black Thursday happened on October 24th 1929. This was when share prices on the New York Stock Market exchange abruptly fell. Markets lost 11% of its value at the opening bell on very heavy trading.
  • Black Tuesday

    Black Tuesday started on October 29th 1929. It happened in the beginning of the Great Depression. This is when the stock markets crashed. This day is also known as the Wall Street Crash. It is known as the most devastating stock market crash in the history of the United States.

    Hoover Dam Constructed

    The Hoover Dam was constructed during the Great Deppression. It is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the borderbetween the US states of Arizona and Nevada.The dam was built to control floods, provide irrigation water and produce hydroelectric power.

    Fraklin D. Roosevelt elected for president

    Fraklin D. Roosevelt defeated Herbert Hoover in 1932 to become president. He was the only president who was elected president to four terms. The four terms being 1932, 1936, 1940, and 1944.
  • 1933 State of Economy

    In March 3, 1993 Governor Clarence Martin closed all Washington State banks and declared a three day "bank holiday". They were in the middle of a banking panic. The banking system was unable to keep up with the panicked withdrawls that customers were making from their bank accounts, rendering banks incapable of providing money many customers had deposited.

    The 21st Amendment was ratified on December 5th 1933. It repealed the 18th Amendment . This Amendment is unique among the 27 Amendments of the U.S. Constitution for being the only to replace a previous amendment and for being the only to have been ratified by the method of the state ratifying convention.

    The Z1 was originally created by Germany's Conrad Zuse in his parents living room. He created the Z1 during the years 1936 to 1938. This was considered the first electro-mechanical binary programmable (modern) computer and really the first functional computer.
  • GI Bill of Rights

    The GI Bill is also known as The Servicemen's Readjustment Act of 1944.It was a law that provided a range of benefits for returning World War 2 veterans (commonly reffered to as G.I.s). Benefits include low-cost mortgages, loans to start a business or farm, cash payments of tuition and living expenses to attend college, high school or vacational education, as well as one year of unemployment conpensation.
  • Frisbee Invented

    The frisbee was invented in 1957 by a Californian UFO enthusiast named Walter Frederick. But he did't called it a frisbee. The Wham- O Company bought his idea for a toy saucer and later named it after a popular pie restaurant in Brigeport,Connecticut.
  • Internet

    The internet was not developeed by a single person it was developed by a team of experts. The development of internet started in 1957 when Sputnik 1 (the first satellite) was launched by the Soviet Union.
