Thomas Woodrow Wilson was the 28th president of the United States. He also was a leader of the progressive movement and in his first term passed major progressive reforms. In his second term after his re-election he was reponsable for America involvment in WWI. -

Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt was the 26th president of the United States. He is a well known leader of the progressive movement, he was the leader of the Rough Riders. -
Social Darwinism
Social Darwinism is the ideology of applying Darwinismo or survival of the fittest to politics and social order. The idea at Social Darwinism was created in the 1870's and was made popular in early 1900's. -
Franz Ferdinand
Franz Ferdinando was the Archduke of Austria and the Royal Prince of Hungary throne. In June 1914 he was killed in Sarajevo by a group of assassins. His death is believed to have sparked WWI when Austria-Hungary declared war agaist Serbia. -
Upton Sinclair
Upton Beall Sinclair Jr. was an American writor and author who wrote many books in many genres. In 1906 he wrote a novel "The Jungle" which exposed conditions in meat packing factories leading to the pure drug and food act. Sinclair founded the states chapter of American Civil LIbertier Union and was very politicaly influential. -

The Spanish–American War
The Spanish–American War was a war between Spain and America. During revolting against Spanish rule in Cuba America became more and more enraged as they heard about growing atrocities until a U.S. ship was mysteriously destroyed and the U.S. declared war on Spain. This war resulted in American victory, the freedom of Cuba and the Treaty of Paris. -

The Zimmermann Note (or The Zimmermann Telegram) was a proposal from Germany to Mexico to make war against the U.S. This telegram was intercepted and decoded by brittish. Revelation of the note angered Americans and helped the support of the United States declaration of war on Germany. -
