French and Indian War
The war between Great Britain and France that determined who would own the colossal amount of land in North America. The Native Americans allied with the French. The British won the war. -
Boston Massacre
There was a mob attack on the British on King Street. The British soldiers shot five people and they all died. The mob were colonists who were fighting for their independence. -
Boston Tea Party
The Sons of Liberty impersonated the Native Americans and dumped 342 chests of tea into the harbor because the British imposed taxes on the colonists for tea. -
Continental Congress
The First Continental Congress meeting consisted of the 13 colonies. They were the most important decision makers during the American Revolution. The colonies met in Philadelphia to decide what actions to take. -
Declaration of Independence
At the Pennsylvania State House, the Second Continental Congress meeting adopted the Declaration of Independence. The 13 colonies wrote a letter to King George III stating their separation from Britain and their independence. -
Proclamation of 1763
King George III issued the Royal Proclamation of 1763. It stated the settlers were prohibited from crossing the Appalachian Mountains to stop conflict between the Native Americans and the settlers. -
Surrender at Yorkstown
Ending the American Revolution, Charles Cornwallis surrendered his British Soldiers to the American and French. -
Treaty of Paris
Representatives of King George III signed the treaty in Paris, which ended the American Revolution. -
Shay's Rebellion
A series of attacks on the government properties because the farmers were being taxed that led to a military confrontation. -
Ratification of the Constitution
Delaware was the first state to ratify the Constitution. The Constitution needed to be ratified at least nine out of thirteen states to pass. -
First President is Elected
The Colonial armies’ general and commander in chief was elected as the first President of the United States. -

The Bill of Rights was ratified which consisted of the first ten amendments of the United States. -
Louisiana Purchase
The Louisiana Purchase doubled the size of the United States. The Americans bought 828,000,000 square miles of territory from the French. -

The British and the Americans fought over restrictions on trade and expanding territory. Neither side had won and remained peace. -

Abraham Lincoln was elected the sixteenth President of the United States of America. He was the president to end slavery. -
Civil War starts
The United States divides into the North and South. They both had different political and social views. The Union believed in federalism and anti-slavery, the Confederates believed in the opposite. -
Emancipation Proclamation
Abraham Lincoln issued the proclamation to set free all the slaves in the United States. -
Civil War ends
The Union won the Civil War and the United States did not separate. -
