In the fall of 1963, John F. Kennedy was campaining for his second term in office. On a visit to Dallas, Texas on November 22, he participated in a motorcade. During the parade, he was shot by a man named Lee Harvey Oswald, and died almost instantly.

The Vietnam was fought between the communist North Vietnam and the capitalist South Vietnam. The United States provided aid to South Vietnam, trying to keep it from being taken over by its communist neighbor. However, due to guerilla warfare tactics and lack of knowledge of the terrain, America did not achieve its goal. The troops eventually left, and South Vietnam was taken over by North Vietnam, becoming the country that we know today.

The Black Panther Party was founded by Huey P. Newton in 1965. Its goal was teach African Americans self defense, as well as protect them from the wrong-doings of law enforcement.

Like his older brother John, Robert was assassinated while campaining. While leaving the Ambassador Hotel, where he had previously been giving a speech, he was shot by a man named Sihran Sihran. Although many hours were spent trying to ensure his survival, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries at 1:44 A.M. the next day. -

The Watergate Scandal occured when President Nixon had people break into the democratic headquarters stationed at the Watergate Hotel. Although it took a year for the events that took place that night to be linked to him, it was the reason for his resignation. -
