    At approximately 6:00am the contestants will take a train to the Super 8 JFK Airport NYC hotel. The train come every 15 minutes and costs $7.50 per person. It is a 35 minute train ride from JFK to the hotel.
  • NIGHT AT SUPER 8 HOTEL

    The contestants will arrive at the hotel at approximately 6:35am. They will spend the night at a $110 rate.
  • TAXI TO MIAMI AIRPORT

    The contestants will first take a five minute taxi ride to the Miami International Airport, leaving their home at 12:01 am. They will arrive at the airport at 12:06am.
  • FLIGHT TO NEW YORK

    The competitors will fly from Miami International Airport in Miami Beach, Florida to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York. The Delta National Flight DL782 departs at 2:05 am and reaches New York at 5:30am. The total air time is expected to be three hours and thirty one minutes. Expect a layover of 30 minutes for the contestants to get off the plane and pick up their bags.

    The passengers will wake up at 9:00am. They will gather their belongings and catch a nine hour Greyhound bus ride to Niagara Falls, Canada. Canadian CULTURE (the sum total of knowledge, attitudes and habitual behavior patterns shared and transmitted by members of a society) dates back to arrival of Paleo-Indians thousands of years ago.

    The contestants will arrive in Niagara Falls at 6:30pm, which is located on the border between the United States and Canada. It will be a nine hour bus ride across the border and cost $108 per person. The majestic and beautiful Niagara Falls is is located on the BORDER (a line separating two political or geographical areas, especially countries) of Ontario, Canada and New York, USA. The 3 waterfalls combine to produce the highest flow rate of any waterfall on earth.
  • CHALLENGE IN CANADA

    CHALLENGE IN CANADA
    This location is very significant; in November of 2014, Nik Wallenda walked across the Niagara Falls on a tightrope. To recreate this World Record Breaking event, our players are required to walk across a 30 foot wide plank over Niagara Falls (in harnesses.) They are required to walk across six times, as Niagara is approximately 2,500 feet wide. They will walk a little over 3 miles over The Falls!

    After the challenge, the contestants take a taxi to Toronto Airport. The taxi ride is approximately one hour and 38 minutes. The taxi ride is $.60 per mile, therefore will cost $51.60 for the ride.

    They will arrive at the airport at 10:08pm. It will take approximately one hour to check their baggage and go through security.

    The contestants will then take Delta flight 4182 beginning at 11:30pm from Toronto International Airport to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Alaska. The flight time lasts 11 hours and 5 minutes. This will count as their sleeping time for March 26th.
  • LAND IN ANCHORAGE

    LAND IN ANCHORAGE
    The contestants will land in Anchorage International Airport at 10:35pm on March 27th. Expect a layover of 30 minutes for them to de-board the plane and claim their checked baggage. Alaska is a FRAGMENTED state, (which means it is slightly broken off or separated from the country) The first humans in Alaska arrived about 20,000 years ago. The first humans to stay in Alaska arrived 10,000 years ago.

    At 11:05pm, the couple will catch a 12.5 mile taxi ride to the Diamond Hotel in Alaska. The ride will take about 15 minutes, with no traffic, and will cost approximately $20.24.
    Alaska is fairly new as a state. Alaskans come from the African American and Polish American cultures. Despite the immense amount of ancestors, Alaska has a very small POPULATION (all the inhabitants of a particular town, area, or country) of just over 735,000 people.

    They will arrive at the hotel at 11:20pm and spend the remainder of the night in this location. They will begin their second challenge in the morning.

    The couple will wake up at 7:30am and will take a 1.54 mile taxi ride to H2Oasis. The ride will take about 5 minutes, with no traffic, and will cost approximately $5.67. They will arrive at 8:00am.The H2Oasis is the most beautiful and largest waterpark in Alaska. It provides our contestants with a fun filled activity. H2Oasis is a waterpark that is visited by over 200,000 people per year.
  • TAXI TO AIRPORT

    Ending the challenge at 11:00am, the contestants will return to Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska to depart to their next location. The airport is approximately 14 miles from H2oasis waterpark. It will be a $24.24 taxi ride and will take about 25 minutes.

    They will arrive at the Ted Stevens International Airport at 11:25am. It will take approximately one hour to check their baggage and go through security.

    They will take flight DL1560 departing at 1:00pm from Ted Stevens International Airport to Iguassu Airport in Brazil. It will be a 15 hour and 25 minute flight. They will arrive at 5:05am on March 26th. The Brazilian culture is a melting pot of NATIONALITIES (the status of belonging to a particular nation) especially the Europeans. In addition, slavery brought hordes of African MIGRANTS (a worker who moves from place to place)
  • CHALLENGE IN ALASKA

    CHALLENGE IN ALASKA
    Due to the popularity, overflow of tourists, and significance of the H20asis Waterpark, our contestants will participate in a relay race by swimming the entire length of the longest pool three times, which is 575 feet long. They will then be required to bring the final flag of the race to the owner of H2Oasis, Shawn Milligan. Admission into the waterpark is $30 per person.
  • LAND IN BRAZIL

    LAND IN BRAZIL
    Once the contestants arrive in Brazil, expect a layover of 30 minutes for the contestants to get off the plane and pick up their bags.
  • TAXI TO IGASSU FALLS

    TAXI TO IGASSU FALLS
    From there they will drive 44 minutes to Igassu Falls via taxi ride. The taxi ride will cost $46.72. They will depart from the airport at approximately 5:35am. Iguassu Falls stretches in width of 1.7 miles and it’s height varies between 200 feet and 269 feet. This makes the Iguassu Falls much taller than Niagara Falls and twice as wide!

    The contestants will participate in a helicopter ride over the waterfall. They will be required to sing traditional Brazilian songs while a Mariachi band plays the tunes for them.

    The contestants take a direct flight from Brasilia to Lagos, Nigeria at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport. (Delta airbus Flight 320, 9:34pm, 6 hours and 31 minutes) Evidence of HUMAN ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION (how the humans have an impact on the physical environment) in Nigeria dates back thousands of years. The oldest fossil found by ARCHAEOLOGISTS (the study of human fossils and artifacts)

    The contestants will fly this route to Nigeria. The Nok Culture is from the early stages of Nigeria. Its people began to raise CROPS (a cultivated plant that is grown as food, especially a grain, fruit, or vegetables) and cattle with the coming of the Nok culture. After this event, they seem to have paid particular attention to personal image, especially of the hair. Many of the distinctive features of Nok art can also be brought back to modern Nigerian art produced in such places as Igbo.

    The contestants will land in at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport 3:05am on March 26th. Expect a layover of 30 minutes for them to de-board the plane and claim their checked baggage.

    The contestants will take a 34 minute taxi ride to the hotel from the Shodex Garden. It will cost approximately $17, since it is approximately $.50/minute taxi ride in Nigeria.

    The contestants will then spend the remainder of the morning resting up for their final challenge in Nigeria at a rate of $211 per night. They will arrive at the “Price of Anthony’s” Hotel at 4:05am.

    The contestants willl take an 8 minute car ride, starting at 11 to the Shodex Garden. The taxi ride will be 4.4 miles long and cost $5.40. They will then spend 20 minutes walking to the cultural area. Women carry a fresh water source for drinking and bathing to and fro each day. The women especially practice this technique and depend on it to provide clean drinking water for their communities.
  • CHALLENGE IN LAGOS

    Beginning at about 11:30am, each contestant will carry 50 jugs on his or her head in increments of 1,000 feet. They will transfer the water from jug to jug by participating in a relay race. They will then visit a woman with the ticket to their next location. This activity will take about four hours, ending at 3:30pm.

    The competitors will then take a 10 minute taxi ride to a nearby restaurant. The ride is 6.7km. (4.3 miles) The cost of the taxi ride will be about $5.40.

    The contestants will then arrive at 3:40pm and try various items on the menu at Mr. Biggs Nigerian Restaurant to get a feel for the cultural traditions in Nigeria. The price of this activity may vary, depending on what they are interested in trying.

    The contestants will finish at 6:00pm and take a 43 minute taxi ride to the hotel from Mr. Biggs. It will cost approximately $21.50, since it is approximately $.50/minute taxi ride in Nigeria.

    The contestants will then arrive at the hotel at 6:43pm and spend yet another night from at the “Price of Anthony’s” Hotel for another $211 stay.

  • WHY THE DEAD SEA?

    The Dead Sea is also known as the Salt Sea. It is a bordering body of water and acts as a BOUNDARY (vertical plane between states that cuts through the rocks below and the airspace above a surface) It is from the biblical period, it was a barrier for Judah as he moved east. The name fits the description as the extreme salt content in the water allows no living thing to survive within it.
  • CHALLENGE IN JORDAN

    They will arrive at the Dead Sea at approximately 6:13pm. They will watch the sunset as they complete their final challenge. Therefore, in an effort for our players to get a sense of the Jordanian culture, each player will be required to rub mud from Dead Sea all over their bodies. They will keep it on themselves for a total of ten minutes without washing it off.

    The contestants will then walk to the hotel, about a quarter of a mile from the Dead Sea and spend the night there.

    The contestants will land in Amman, Jordan at 4:38pm. Expect a layover of about 30 minutes for the contestants to pick up their baggage and get off the plane. This culture is based on a combination of Arabic and ISLAM (a religion based on the teachings of Muhammad) This kingdom is located at the intersection of three of the seven existing continents. Due to this unique location, Jordan has such cultural diversity.

    The contestants will finally wrap up their Amazing Race by landing in Miami at 11:59pm on March 28th.
