FDR Questions Congress
President Franklin D. Roosevelt asks congress to allow the Allies to buy arms from the U.S. in an effort to stop Hitler from winning the war, but the Allies HAD to pay cash for all items purchased. -
Lend-Lease Act
This act allowed the President to lend or lease arms to another country, if they were vital to the United States. -
Escorting
In the summer of 1941 the U.S. Naval Force began escorting British ships that carried arms and supplies, to ensure their safety. But Hitler didn't like that one bit. -
German U-boats attack
On this day a German U-Boat Fired on a U.S. Destroyer in the atlantic, So FDR ordered all naval ships to shoot any and all U-boats, On Sight.
