Hideki Tojo was a military leader so Japan was ran by the military when he took over. -
Pearl Harbor
Japan attacks the United States at Pearl Harbor. 20 warships and 200 aircraft were destroyed. 2400 Americans were killed. It was said to be "a day that will live in infamy." -
The Doolittle Raid
16 American bombers attack Tokyo. There was not a lot of damage done but it gave America something to celebrate and it made the Japanese uneasy. -
