    As Odysseus and his men landed in the Land of the Lotus Eaters, the lotus eaters greeted them with the delightful flower. The flower would make the men forget their homeland and want to stay with the flowers forever.

    Aeolus- Bag of Wind

    Aeolus- Bag of Wind
    Aeolus gives Odysseus a bag with all of the winds, and he stirs up a type of wind to guide Odysseus and his crew home. Within ten days, they are in sight of Ithaca, but Odysseus’s shipmates, who think that Aeolus has secretly given Odysseus a fortune in gold and silver, tear the bag open. The winds escape and stir up a storm that brings Odysseus and his men back to Aeolia.

    Circe
    Circe is a goddess who has a hall that has wolves and mountain lions that don’t attack which is very strange. Her and Odysseus talk a lot and she gives advice to him in any dilemma he has to face. In this location, Odysseus learns about the underworld and why he has to go there.

    Sirens
    In this location, Odysseus and his men were on a boat and there are sounds of sirens that are attractive but they kill. So, Odysseus put wax in his men’s hears and tied himself to the mast. He takes great leadership but thinking ahead of for what’s to come.

    Helios’ Cattle

    Helios’ Cattle
    Odysseus tries to talk his men out of going to Thrinacia which is the island of the sun god. Since the men are hungry, they ignore Odysseus’ warning not to eat Helios’ Cattle and they did anyway. Since they ate the cattle, it angered the sun gods and a lightning bolt was thrown at Odysseus’ ship to sink it and Odysseus was the only survivor.

    Suitors

    Suitors
    The suitors warm and grease the bow but one by one they all try and fail. Meanwhile, Odysseus follows Eumaeus and Philoetius outside. He assures himself of their loyalty and then reveals his identity to them. He reveals his identity by showing them the scar on his foot. Also Odysseus was the only person worthy enough of stringing the bow.

    Trojan War
    The Trojan war was a war that started because of the kidnapping of Helen, the wife of Menelaus the king of Sparta. During this war Menelaus needed a plan to defeat the Trojans. Odysseus, one of Menelaus allies, came up with a plan of building what we know as the Trojan horse. This is the plan that brought the end to the Troy kingdom.

    Cyclops
    As the cyclops capture Odysseus, they put him in a cave with sheep and goat. Odysseus ended up stealing the goats and escaping.

    Scylla and Charybdis

    Scylla and Charybdis
    Scylla was a six headed monster who swallowed a sailor for each head whenever a ship passed by. Charybdis is a whirlpool that can swallow a ship whole. Circe ordered Odysseus to keep his course tight against the Scylla's lair.
