The automobile achieved status, so driving clothes were developed to protect against dust-- duster (a long, lightweight dust coat), wind shield hats, and glasses.

proper clothes. Designers were
happy to add to the madness. -
Ethical issues in advertising as it grows
Talk of ethical issues in advertising but no ethics code could be set up without cooperation among advertisers, which were, for the most part, individualists.
This event became a fashion trend based on the
celebrities that were advertized. All people would
see these advertisements and dress accordingly
(for example, the bob). -
End of World War 1
WW1 inspired new patterns and daring
fashion trends (skirts that rose well above
the ankle). WW1 inspired fashion this fashion trend because it put a strain on society for a long period of time. It was a big deal and victory was ours. -
End to womens sufferage movement
The women’s suffrage movement stirred the desire in women to have the right to vote. Involving fashion, they wanted to combat legislation that wanted to enforce the mandatory wearing of corsets and a hemline no shorter than 1 inch off the ground.
