Chapter 2
Ponyboy, Johnny, Two-Bit, Dally go to the drive-in, and they meet Cherry and Marica. Ponyboy tells Cherry about Johnny being jumped by Socs. Johnny stands up for himself and the two girls. Sodapop tells Ponyboy that he wants to marry Sandy. -
Chapter 1
Ponyboy is taking a walk home after the movies. Ponyboy knows that Greasers arn't supposed to walk alone without some sort of weapon, but he continued to walk anyway. Suddenly Socs appear and jump him. But the rest of the gang turn up and save Pony from "getting a new haircut". -
Chapter 3
Ponyboy, Johnny and Two-Bit walk Marica and Cherry home from the drive-in. When talking to Cherry, Pony relaises that Socs and Greasers arn't that diffrent. But Cherry and Marcia's boyfriends (Socs) show up and want to take them home. Cherry and Marica go with them to aviod having the boys fight. Later Johnny and Pony accidentally fall asleep in the lot, and when Ponyboy returns home really late, Darry is furious Darry also yells at Soda, which makes Pony yell at Darry, and Darry hits Ponyboy. -
Chapter 4
Ponyboy decides to run away with Johnny. But 5 Socs approach them, and Bob and Pony start throwing insluts. Then Bob grabs Pony and tries to drown him in the nearby fountion. Thats then Johnny snaps and uses his swichblade to kill Bob. As the other 4 Socs flee, Pony and Johnny go to Dally for help. When they find Dally, he gives them cloths, money and a gun, and tells them to go to Windrixville, to the abandoned church. Johnny and Pony get on a train to Windixville, and they find the church. -
Chapter 5
Ponyboy wakes up in the church, but Johnny is gone. Pony then sees a note from Johnny written in the dust. Johnny comes back, and he brings peroxcide, 'Gone With the Wind', cards, cigerattes, balony and candy. Johnny cuts and bleaches Pony's hair, then Pony cuts Johnny's hair. They talk about the Robert Forst poem, and how gold can never stay. Dally comes and gives Pony a note from Soda, then takes them to Dairy Queen. -

Ponyboy and Johnny Hide Out in the Church
Johnny and Pony hide out in the abandoned church in Windrixville, They read "Gone With the Wind" most of the time. -
Chapter 6
Pony and Johnny find out that Cherry is a "greaser spy". Johnny tells Pony and Dally that he is going to turn himself in. The boys find the church on fire, and Pony and Johnny go in through the window to save the children. Pony and Dally end up getting burned, the children are all fine, but Johnny's back gets broken from a peice of falling timber. -
Chapter 7
When Pony sees Darry at the hospital, he finally reliases that Darry does love him. Pony, Soda, and Darry are interveiwed by reporters at the hospital. The boys find out that Johnny is in critical condiction, and that Dally is okay. The papers are calling Johnny, Dally ans Ponyboy heroes. Pony finds out the Curtis brothers may be split up. Two-Bit and Pony see Randy at the Tasty Freeze. -
Chapter 8
Johnny refuses to see his mother when she comes to see him. Then Dally asks Two-Bit for his swichblade. Pony is sick, but still wants to participate in the rumble. Cherry won't vist Johnny in the hospital becuase he killed Bob. -
Chapter 9
The rumble (Greasers vs Socs) happens. After they won, Dally and Ponyboy go to see Johnny again in the hospital. When they get there, Johnny is dying. Johnny and pony tell each other to stay gold. -
Chapter 10
After Johnny dies, Dally can't take it and he robs a store. Police chase him, and are just going to take him to jail when he pulls a unloaded gun out, but not knowing its not loaded, the police open shot him. -

Ponyboy is Sick
Ponyboy is sick in bed for almost a week. -
Chapter 11
Randy visits Ponyboy and they talk about the hearing in two days. Ponyboy believies he killed Bob, and that Johnny is stil alive. -
Chapter 12
The hearing takes place. The judge asks about Pony's homelife, and then Ponyboy is aquitted. While out for lunch with Two-Bit and Steve, Socs threaten Ponyboy, and then Pony defends himself with a broken bottle. L:ater when Ponyboy opens "Gone With the Wind", he finds a note from Johnny. For his english assignment, Ponyboy starts to write about his life, and the greasers.
