    From 2000 he was a temporary chef at the trendy restaurant Lenbach, then became a young chefKarl Ederer at the 1-star restaurant Glockenbach in Munich. Ederer later became his sponsor and got him a job at the 2-star house Tantris and in the Swiss salons Wertheim.
    In 2005, Güngörmüş opened the Hamburg-Othmarschen Le Canard Nouveau restaurant. In November 2006 his restaurant was awarded a Michelin star.
