Battle of of the Granicus

334 BCE

He crosses the Hellespont into Anatolia. His goal was to defeat King Darius III (King of Persian Empire) and conquer the Persian Empire. BUt darius didn't really think of him as a enemy so he took a few men with him and quickly he won the battle.

Battle of Issus

Alexander tries to fight Darius III at Issus. Darius had a bigger army, but Alexander the great but Alexander the Great used his phalanx formation to win the battle. Darius fled and Alexander couldn’t catch him, but he captured Darius’s wife and children.

Battle of Gaugamela

331 BCE

Again Darius saw that he couldn’t win and so he fled.
Darius died July 330 B.C.
Alexander the Great won the battle and became King of Persia.
