The purpose of this act was so that colonial merchants could only use English ships and couldn;t send cetain products. The outcome of this act was that colonists were angry becase their trade was constricted. They began smuggling. -
Proclamation of 1763
The purpose of the act was to set the Appalation Mountains as a boundary for colonists. The outcome of the act was that it made the colonists angry because they had already bought land west there and the British involved their claims. -
Sugar Act
The purpose of the act lowered tax on molasses and let officers seize goods from smugglers without going to court. The outcome of the act was that it made the colonists angry because it violated their rights. -
Stamp Act
The purpose of this act was to place a tax on almost all printed material. The outcome of this act was that colonists protested and burned effigies that represented tax collectors. -
Declaratory Act
The purpose of the act was to show that Parliament had the right to make all decisions of the colonies. There was no outcome of this act. -
Townshend Acts
The purpose of this act was that new taxes would only apply to imported goods such as glass, tea, and papers. The outcome of this act was that colonists organized a boycott. -
Tea Act
The purpose of this act was that the law allowed the company sole control of the tea trade in America. The outcome of this act was the Boston Tea Party. -
Coercive Acts(Intolerable Acts)
The purpose of this act was to punish the people of Massetchusetts for their resistance to British law. The outcome of this act was that colonists believed that the Intolerable Acts violated their rights as British citizens. -
Quebec Acts
The purpose of this act was to set up a goverment for Quebec. England gave Quebec lands west of the Appalation Mountains and north of th e Ohio River.
