4 a. The partition of India was a conflict that the Hindus were pushing Muslims to Pakistan and out of India where they were. They were fighting because the Hindus didn't want the Muslims in India.

15% of the world's population.
The book is the Veda which has 4 types.
The symbol is called the Om.

Judaism Part 1

1800 BCE

1. It is most dominant in Israel and the U.S.
2. 0.2 % of the population are Jewish.
3. They use the Torah as their scripture.
4. Their symbol is called the Star of David.

Judaism Part 2

1. For the Jews, a sacred place is Hibron which holds the tomb of Biblical Patriarch Abraham.
2. They believe in the ten commandments and they use the orthodox which has cuneiform. They also use the Torah.
3. They celebrate Hanukkah which is for 9 days in which the candle is lit for 9 days. They celebrate Batmizfas which are celebrations of turning 13 and becoming a man or woman.
4. WW2 is a conflict including Hitler who did not like the Jews so he imprisoned them. He wanted everyone the same.

Buddhism Part 1

1. This is most dominant in South East Asia
2. 7% of the world is Buddhist
3. They use the Tripitaka as their scripture to help them get enlightened.
4. The symbol is called the Dharmachakra

Buddhism Part 2

620 BCE

1. The Lumbini is a sacred place because it is the birth place of Buddha.
2. The Buddhists believe that you can reach enlightenment or Nirvana in your life and are all about reaching that point.
3. Vesak is the celebration of the birth, death, and enlightenment of Buddha.
4. Rohingya Genocide was the conflict. They were fighting because the Myanmar people didn't like the Rohingya people so they sent the military to attack and destroy the city on august 25, 2017. 24,000 people died.

Islam part 1

610 BCE

1. This religion is dominant in Northern Africa and West Asia.
2. 23% of the population practices Islam.
3. The Quran is the scripture.
4. Their symbol is called the Crescent and Star.

Islam Part 2

570 BCE

1. For the Muslims, Mecca is a holy location because they take pilgrimage here.
2. They believe in Allah. They have 10 commandments. They pray 5 times a day. They also believe in bloodline for deciding leaders.
3. They pray 5 times a day. They celebrate Ramadan.
4. The partition of India. They were fighting because the Hindus did not want the Muslims in India so they violently forced the Muslims into Pakistan.

Christianity Part 2

1 CE

1. A holy location is Vatican city. This is holy because this is the city that the pope lives and many other Christian people that are priests and other roles.
2. They believe in Jesus and that god is the most powerful being. They have Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant.
3. They Celebrate Christmas which is the birth of Jesus.
4. The Crusades was a war against the Muslims and they were fighting because the Christians wanted the Muslims territory and sent soldiers to raid them.
