Francisco sets sail with Alonzo de Ojeda. During their travels they founded a city named San Sabastian. Francisco was the first mate in this trip. Also, they founded another city called Panama City in what is now the country of Panama. -

Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca

He departed from the port of Navidad, Mexico. 3 months later he landed in what is now San Diego Bay. He died during the expedition, but his crew kept going until about Oregon, but then forced back down to Mexico because of the winter. -

He started going on trade ships in the Bay of Biscay at the age of 18. At the age of 23 he started to go on slaving voyages to Guinea and in West Africa. At the age of 24 he finally became captain. -
John Davis
This voyage was to find the North-West Passage. His crew set out from Dartmouth. He made his way to Greenland and down south towards Cape Farewell. He went back up towards Greenland, but on the other side and was in Baffin Land. -
Henry Hudson
He, his son, and 11 crew members saled from England on the Hopewell. His crew went passed Greenland toward the North Pole. This voyage was to find a way for the English trading ships to get to the far East.
