Discovered the Gold Coast and Cape Verde in addition to Azores,Maderia,and Canary islands. they they set up trading forts along the west coast of Africa. The trade broght new weath to Portuguese and Henry's country Portugal became more powerful. -

Treaty of Tordesillas
It was beetween Spain and Portugal. It was ratified by Spain. The purpose was to divide trading and colonizing rights for all newly discovered lands beetween Spain and Portugal to the exclusion of other Europian countries. It gave the land to the East to Portugal and the land to the West to Spain. -

Hernan Cortez
He went to Aztec capital and met Montezuma. The Aztec thought he was a God-king and treated him and his soilers well. Cortes was afraid they might try to get rid of him. He kidnapped Montezuma and held him hostage for a huge ransom of gold and jewles.Cortez was right and the Aztecs finally drove him and his men out of their city in June 1520.He regrouped and retured in the summer of 1521 to capture Tenochtitlan and began building Mexico City on the Aztec ruins.
