House of Burgesses:Negro Womens children
House of Burgesess declares that the status of the children follows that of the mother meaning if the mother was a slave than her children were also slaves even if the father was not. -
Quakers
Quakers began to settle during the 1670's, William Penn founded Pennsylvania in 1682 and it was known as the first quaker colony. -
Slaves in South Carolina
By the 1720"s slaves made up 20% of the population in South Carolina. they made up 80% in areas where there was rice. -
Slaves in Chesapeake
By 1720 1000 slaves were imported to the chesapeake colonies they made up 20% of the population in the Chesapeake colonies. -
Stono Rebellion
This rebellion was the largest slave uprising in the british north american colonies. Africans in the reveolt killed a number of whites and as a result of this revolt owners imported less slaves and were more strict. -

British troops opened fire on angry crowd in Boston and killed 5 bostonians. -
