Parliament Declares Slave Trade Illegal
1807 Parliament declared the slave trade illegal. When the slave trade was declared illegal the underground markets for buying and selling enslaved people grew. At the same time many people who once profitted from the slave trade had to find new ventures. This led to the British exploring other areas such as the exportation of Palm Oil from African nations to Britain.
