The D-12 was the first successful electric toaster made by Frank Shailor. It was a single heating toaster that has no exterior. A slice of bread at to be turned by hand. The first automatic toaster used a clockwork type of mechanism that was able to time the process of cooking the toast. When it was done the slice would pop up and the invention reached market place in 1926 known as the "Toastmaster."

First Iron With An Adjustable Temperature Control
The first iron that allowed women to adjust the temperature was invented by the Silex Company. The metal was of pure silver and this helped women be able to know what temperature was being placed on their clothing. It was significant by being the first iron to control the degrees and not second guess if you would burn something or not. -

John W. Hammes invented the first garbage disposal in his basement. He started this idea to help make cleaning the kitchen up easier for his wife. His idea was to use an appliance that operates in a way the forces food to be cut up and grinded so it would be easier to flush down the drain. This was extremely significant in household use because women could clean up faster. -
Washing Machine to Wash, Rinse, and Extract Water
Invented by John W. Chamberlain, this device was able to wash clothes, rinse them, and extract the water from someones clothes in one single wash. This was so helpful to households because it allowed individulas to only go through one operation instead of several steps to complete their laundry. -
First Clothes Dryer
Since hanging clothes was such a time managment sklill, J. Ross Moore decieded to build the first ever clothes dryer that was oil-heated. He first wanted the dryer to run on gas or electricity, but due to financial difficulties he sold his idea.
This helped by not having to deal with hanging clothes up on lines. Saved time and you could wash at any time of the day and not rely on weather conditions. -
First Top-Loading Automatic Diswasher
The first top-loading dishwasher was introduced by the Nineteen Hundred Cooperation. It allowed people to wash dishes by simply placing them in the washer while standing up. Sears marketed the dishwasher and called it "suds saver" which sold for $239.95. This was important because more dishes could be washed this was an it was easier to set them inside a top washer instead of bending over each time. -
Twin Top With Griddle
During the early 1950s cooking became a bit easier with the top griddle. Now you could make several things like roast a turkey, broil other meats, fry something on the side, all at the exact same time! This new improvement allowed whoever was cooking the luxury of cooking things at once instead of spending all day in the kitchen; what took someone all day could now be condensed into hours! -

You'll finish your clotthes in no time with this new record timing ironing machine. It has an automatic ironer that irons, presses, and steams. It even has adjustable speeds, can be used for flat or fast work, and has a speed set for ironing ruffles and frills. This machine iron was revolutionary because it contained multiple aspects that the basic iron did not have. Instead of buying an iron that contain each of these traits the iron machine contained everything and must more could be done. -
21-inch Silvertone Console
The best console to come out during its time. Had a beautiful hand polished veneers and was a tv superiority. Its exterior gave it a great fringe area and even reception. The sounds were deep there was no glare from your television. This was great for families that enjoyed spenidng time together. The tv was easy to view from all angles and had the finest programs. -
HIgh Pop Automatic Toaster
This toaster was able to produce perfect toast every tiime. Wheather you wanted to make one slice or two, it contained the perfect browning and temperature to your liking. This toaster was significant because not only was each piece of toast to your perfectio, but it popped up high enough that no fingers ever got burnt. -
Garage Burner
You can dump your scraps, food, or any trash for that matter (well anything burnable) into this garbage burner, light it, and leave! No more having to take out the trash or enduring horrible smells. These can were made out of heavy duty steele that had brown baked enamal finish. This was a great invention for the household because no one had to take the trash out! In a way it was also environmental friendly. -
Tank Cleaner outfit
New carpet cleaner that was extra powerfu; and removed dirt, dust, and lint straight out of any carpet. Was very adjustable with a quiet motor and could be used in all rooms of the house. This became important because you didn't need a cleaning service and the carpet cleaner had a wand, hose, floor nozzle, wall/brush, etc. -
Twelve Speed Mixer
One of the brightest cooking invention during the 50s was the speed mixer. Every housewives dream, this mixer had 150-watts power and any choice of tweleve speeds to choose from. This was a great importance to household technologies because using your hand and a beater and mixing yourself was no longer a thing you had to do! -
AM-FM Radio
This Silvertone FM/AM table radio was better than any other radio on the market. It had a duel speaker, AM-FM turner, and dials that lite up so you could pinpoint your station. It also had built in antennas and came in two colors. This allowed households to tune into the radio in the house and not just their cars! They could cook in the kitchen while being intertained or listen to games from home when they could attend them. -

Best way to start your morning. Oranges. lemons, grapefruit, or any fruit to your liking can now be made to your liking and made fresh too! This helped households to eat/drink healthier and by being able to use all the ingredients in a fruit since you did not have to juice it by hand anymore. -

Automatic can opener that allowed individuals to nevere have to open a can by hand again! Its faster, better, easier, and believe it or not it's safer as well. You never have to deal with rugged edges or put your child in danger. This was significant because individuals actually did not have to worry about hurting themselve in the kitchen and mothers felt more safe allowing their children to help out. -

The floppy disk is now over and the flash drive has been born. This was completely important and significant because it was a portable/compact storage device that can fit in your pocket. Families can work from home or even store important information. Its affordable and simple. -
Bluetooth Earpiece
Personally I think the Bluetooth earpiece was a huge advacement. Instead of being attached to your phone from the wall or carrying it in your hands, the blue tooth allowed people to do whatever they needed to do with two hands. This was significant because its safer (if driving) and allowed you to use both your hands to continue chores. -
Griffin iTrip
When the iPod came out this device was great because it allowed you to listen to the music of your choice through and open transmitter. This was significant because it was safer as well, because people focused less on turning the dialing channels and already having certain playlists ready. -
Hand dryer
Household iteams like an automatic hand dryer was also revolutionary. It allowed people to spend less money on buying paperr towels or dirtying up hand towels. Not a lot of people had this, but in my opinion places of food also count in improving items as well and this definitely was significant in not spreading germs, limiting washing, and wasiting paper. -
Sono Multi-Room Music
This device allowed you channel the mood of your liking into every room. This was great for the advancement of household technologies because you could play soft music in your childrens room, but listen to what you wanted in rooms of your choice. It was a great mood starter. -
Apple Airport Express
This device was a blessing to many households. The Airport Express allowed individuals to stream from anywhere in the house and to even print wirelessly. This allowed people to work where ever they choose in the house and to stream the internete wherever they wanted. -
Noise Cancelling Headphones
These headphones have been an idea since the 50s but finally fell into consumer hands during the 2000s. These headphones silence the noise around you and help prevent earing damage. These are great for children who are studying or parents who want some piece of mind. -
Sony Playstation 3/Blue-ray
The Playstation was bettered by being made, not only into a gaming system, but a movie system as well! This HD format on the playstation was unreal and watching movies was changed for the better. Now households only needed one decieve to watch movies, play games, and even use it for netflix and streaming shoes such like it. -

Very afforable that many kids saved up to buy one. This camera was a mock of a video recorder and you could easily record to make movies with it. This was great for families that have children and that wanted to record the memories of their upbringing. -
Air Multiplier
This was a magic-looking/bladeless fan. It produced cold air into a room just like a fan, but was quiet and lifeless. It consumed less eneregy and even had a sleep timer. This helped indiividuals sleep that were light sleepers and also helped families save money.
