Adolf Hitlers' birth
Adolf was born in Brainau Am Inn, Austria on April 20, 1889. He was born to mother Klara Polzl and Alois Hitler. Klara and Alois were first cousins once removed. Klara was a domestic worker while Alois was a customs officer. Alois had recently changed his last name from Schicklgruber to Hitler in hopes of inheritance. Adolf was the fourth child born from his parent, the first three died from illness. Adolf was baptized as Catholic, his family being against Jews. (The History Place) -
Invention of radio broadcasting
On Christmas Eve of 1906, Reginald Fessenden broadcasted voices from Boston to ships at sail. He then reattempted moments later playing Christmas songs. Press found out about the invention and Fessenden gained glory. Today there are 15,330 radio stations of many genres in the U.S.A., majority of cars are even produced with one installed. Invention of the tank
Australian engineer Lancelot Eldin de Mole had designed a war vehicle that was to be driven in any terrain and had the potential to hold mass weight. It could drive in any direction on tracked rotating belts. He had sent his drawings to the British War Office where it had been rejected. Some of his drawings had been passed on while the others returned. Germans later bought the drawings and made a model in 1915. Tanks are a primary war vehicle used daily (Chris Clark). -

After the failed attempt, he had planned and tried seizing the government again, this time successful. He gained a wide portion of the German parliament for the Nazi party as well as dissolving the Democratic government that once existed. Hitler is imprisoned five years for treason
On April 1, 1920 Hitler lost his case and was imprisoned for treason at the Landsberg jail. His sentence was one of five years, however after a very long nine months for the Nazi party, Hitler's release was forced by the Nazis. The reason for imprisonment was simple, Hitler and the Nazi party tried to seize the German government by brute force. It did not fall in the favor for the Nazi party, resulting in the imprisonment of several including Hitler. -
Big bang theory was proposed
In 1927, Georges Lemaître propsed the big bang theory. The big bang theory was a way to explain the creation of the universe. It claims that the universe was born as a hot singular point, 13.8 billion years ago. Over time it kept expanding. This is the most commonly believed theory today for the creation of the universe to this day(Denise Chow). -
American Gothic was painted
In 1930 American, Grant Wood painted American Gothic in attempts to win three hundred dollars at a contest in Chicago. Using his sister and dentist as models for the painting. He was inspired by Flemish Renaissance art. This piece was very controversial as many thought he was stereotyping the south, Wood just said it's who he imagined living in the house. american Gothic was well known in America in the 1900's. Hitler prepares Germans for war
In 1930 Hitler began to physically and mentally prepare his troops for war. He started by telling them about the great rewards that would come for all of Germany. He then took over factories to build war machines while his army trained agility and strength. In reality, Hitler was unprepared for World War II himself, ultimately resulting in the loss for Germany (Encyclopedia of World Biography). -
Invention of electron microscope
In 1931, the first model of the electron microscope was invented and built. An electron microscope is a microscope with high magnification and resolution, employing electron beams in place of light and using electron lenses to view small substances. Max Knoll and Ernst Ruska invented it at the Berlin Technische Hochschule. This allowed for many viruses and diseases to be detected. (Overview of Electron Microscopy). -
Hitler introduces concentration camps against the Jewish
Throughout the course of 1933, Hitler began setting up concentration camps for Jews, homosexuals, communists, and Gypsies. These concentration camps had one or two tiers of police officers and commanders, who could imprison anyone who spoke out. They forced labor upon the people of the camps and tried to make their lives miserable. Multiple people died at the concentration camps daily (Haas, 23). -
Hitler leads the Holocaust
Hitler took the leader roll in the Jewish holocaust when it began. He helped in the addition of concentration camps that held Jewish, communists, Gypsies, and homosexuals. He promoted the death of these minorities in several ways. He promoted the gas chambers that killed the minorities who acted out and the ones who didn't. Hitler becomes German dictator
On August 2, 1934, President Paul von Hindenburg of Germany passed away, leaving the position open. The German army took a pledge to be loyal to the new Fuhrer. A Fuhrer was a combination of a chancellor and president inflicting absolute rule. Hitler now had the power, support, and supplies needed to have world domination. He failed in doing so, but with the immense amounts of power held, it all went to his head (History.com). -
Wizard of Oz was released
The Wizard of Oz was filmed in 1939 and it was released on August 25, 1939. The film features Judy Garland as Dorothy, Ray Bolger as Scarecrow, Bert Lahr as Cowardly Lion and Jack Haley as Tinman. Victor Fleming directed the movie. The movie features Dorothy who gets caught up in a tornado that brings her to a wonderful land where she meets lifelong friends. Hitler declares war against the United States of America
Hitler declared war on the U.S.A. on December 11, 1941 at 3:30 in the afternoon. Four days prior to the Hitler declaring war, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. Japan and Germany were in a military alliance. The U.S. Navy was already in a battle with Germany. Roosevelt and Hitler despised each other's methods in leading, Roosevelt supporting the Jews. In fear of the U.S.A. beating Germany to the punch, Hitler made the executive decision to declare war against the United States. (History.com) -
Hitler survives an assasination attempt
In 1944 Hitler survived an assassination attempt. German officials decided that the war had progressed too far due to Hitler and the solution was by killing Hitler. Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg was in charge of planting a bomb inside Hitler's suitcase during a meeting. The bomb went off and severely wounding and burning Hitler. Several individuals were arrested under Hitler's commands following the bomb. This near death only motivated Hitler to keep fighting with help of Nazis (History.com). -
Hitlers' death
Adolf Hitler committed suicide on January 16,1945. He had resorted to an eighteen room bunker under his headquarters in Berlin. The bunker had it's own water and electrical supply. In the bunker with him was his dog and his wife of two days, Eva Braun. Hitler was warned that the Russians were coming to kill him, both he and his wife then decided to swallow cyanide capsules. The double-suicide was ended with Hitler shooting himself with his pistol for insurance purposes. The Nazi leader was dead. -
