  • Abel Tasman

    Abel Janszoon Tasman (1603 March – 10 October 1659) was a Dutch explorer, mainly known for the voyages of that he did serving in the Dutch East India Company (VOC). He was the first known European sailer to find the Van Diemen's Land (now known as Tasmania) and he also found New Zealand.
  • The first time Australia was discovered

    In 1688, William Dampier reached Australia, but in 1770 a Captain James Cook, found the east coast of Australia. He called it New South Wales. Then he made it his land
  • Captain Arthur Philip

    Capt. Arthur Philip was the commander of the First Fleet, he led 11 ships, He and his crew were on a breath taking eight month voyage. The successed on his voyage because of barely any life's died due to his care and planning prior to their departure from Portsmouth, England. When they arrived at Botany Bay, Arthur found the site not quite right and searched for another site for settle in, then he found in Port Jackson.
  • Machines

    Machines were in the process of being made. People were having more ideas on how to create machines and thinking what they could do. People were trying to make machines that could do work for them so they could have spare time for the important things. When machines were made, it did indeed made life easier and it also made life worse at the same time.

    The industrial revolution was when the machines that would change the future were invented. Many people lost their jobs because of all of the machines in the factory's which lead to less money being given, more robbers taking machines and valuables and this was the main cause of why Americans invaded Australia because of all the overcrowded prison from all the crime that had happened lately. There was also a big famine because no one had money to buy food so people died. 1760-1830
  • American Revolution won

    The British first decided to put the convicts that they were holding in their prison cells, in America. The Americans won the war that had happened because of all the convicts that were sent so they didn't allow the convicts that the British wanted to put in their country. So they refused to take anymore convicts. The British decided to find somewhere else to dump their convicts.
  • Matthew flinders

    Matthew Flinders (1774-1814) was born in Lincolnshire in England. He joined the navy and trained as a navigator. Believed that he could become a sailor and explore the seas. He met George Bass, a ship's doctor, when they were sailing to Australia on the Reliance. They became good friends and went on many journeys together. Matthew was to first man to circumnavigate Australia. It was he who suggested the name "Australia" and it was given in 1824. Several places have been named after him.
  • Australia is found

    The Bristish decided to put the convicts in Australia which Capt. James Cook had just found and he was thinking no one would liveed there since because it was a new land. They found the Aboriginals and fought with them. The convicts had a lot of work to do so Australia would look good. Later on, Capt. Arthur Phillip colonised Australia so people could come and live there for the rest of their lives.

    When captain Arthur Philip came to Australia and invaded the teratory of the indigenous people. Captain Arthur Philip had landed in 1788 at Sydney cove and probably killed a lot of aboriginal people who tried to get them out of their country but when the English came out with their guns and all the aborigines had were spears.
  • Van Diemens land and when it turned into a separate colony

    Van Diemens land and when it turned into a separate colony
    On the 3rd of December, Van Diemens land (now known as Tasmania) was made its own colony and was separated from the rest of NSW.
  • Australia becoming diverse

    When Australia became colonised, it became diverse with hundreds of nations taking the journey to Australia. Today, people come to Australia for it's features. Australia will continue to become more diverse. People came to because of the Gold Rush. People discovered so much gold under the ground and not soon after the word spread across the world. Billions of people came to Australia from across the world in foreign countries.
