Proclamation of 1763
Prohibits settlement west of Appalachian Mountain helping settle ties with Native Americans. Colonists were not very happy that their freedom was restricted and that they could not be on their own land. -

Quartering Act
Required Colonists to house and feed the British soldiers. The colonist were not happy that they were being taxed to house their army. -
Sugar Act
Taxed sugar, textiles, coffee, wine, and molasses imported into the colonies. Colonists were not happy because they said that it was a restriction of their justice, they then boycotted the goods that were taxed and started to smuggle sugar. -
Currency Act
Regulated paper money issued by the British colonies and prohibited the issue of any new bills and the reissue of existing currency. The colonies hated this act because it prevented them from making their own money. -
Stamp Act
Placed a tax on all printed material in the Colonies, colonists were not very happy so they boycotted British goods and started riots and attacks on the collectors soon forming a stamp congress. -
Declaration Act
repealed the stamp act saying that Britain had the exclusive right to legislate on and tax its colonies, the colonist was upset they knew that more acts would soon come. -
Townshend Acts
Taxes on all imported British goods to pay off was debt, the colonist were upset because they were still being taxed -
Boston Massacre
A deadly riot which occurred when the British soldier's open fired on a group of American colonists killing 5. This massacre helped spark the colonists' desire for the independence of America. -
Tea Act
Taxation on tea, the colonist did not like this very much and started to boycott the tea and throwing it into the harbor which is also known as the Boston Tea Party. -
The Boston Tea Party
This is the event that took place when colonists boycotted the tea during the tea act. -
Coercive Acts
Also known as Intolerable acts, were four laws passed by the British Parliament to punish the Massachusetts Bay colony for the Boston Tea Party.
