    The Sugar Act was passed to give money to the king of England, because he put his country (England) in debt. The act said the sugar was taxed, because they put sugar in a lot of foods and drinks.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    The Quartering Act was passed to protect the British soldiers and to protect against the French. The act stated, "uninhabited houses, outhouses, barns, and other buildings..." This was a list of some of the places the soldiers could live, whether the owners wanted them to live there or not.

    The Stamp Act was passed to replace the sugar act and they already payed a tax like the stamp act. The act said, the king would tax stamps not sugar.

    The Townshend Act was made to stop people from smuggling and gave Britain more power in return. The act said that glass, tea, etc were taxed.

    The Tea Act was made to ease tension in the colonies. It says that other goods from the town were reappealed except for tea.

    The Boston Port Act was passed to get better control of the colonists. It said that the colonists couldn't get exported goods, except from Britain.

    The act was passed to gain more control over the colonist's and it said that the colonists would no longer have control about who governs them and who enforces the law.

    The act was passed to gain more territories. It said all territories, islands, and countries would be part of a new found government.
