  • Elizabeth I Dies

    Elizabeth I, the last of the Tudor monarchs, dies. Her cousin James becomes the new monarch, who unites the three kingdoms: England, Scotland and Ireland.
  • King James Dies

    After the start of the 30 Years War, James dies, and was succeeded by his son, Charles,
  • England Fights In War

    In the beginning of his rule, Charles bring convinces his country to contribute more fighting in the war.But after facing Catholic armies, he steps away from the war.
  • New Prayer Book

    Charles attempts to promote a new prayer book to Scotland. The people were furious with him and started to resist.
  • Ireland Rebels

    Hundreds of English and Scottish protestants in Ireland were killed by Catholic Irish. This caused England to start to divide.
  • Civil War

    A civil war breaks out in England.
  • Scots Alliance

    Right as the king was going to win, the Scots and the parliament create an alliance to defeat him.
  • The King Is Defeated

    After losing Northern England to the Scots, Charles was defeated. He refused to surrender to the parliament, and surrendered to the Scots instead.
  • Charles' Death

    King Charles was beheaded after being found guilty for treason.
  • England Captures Ireland

    England recaptures Ireland to show traditional dominance.
  • Charles II

    Charles II was crowned king of Scotland. Then, later that year attempted to invade England, but failed.
  • Monarchy Is Restored

    Charles II returned to England to reclaim to monarchy after Richard Cromwell's resignation from power.
  • Plague And Fire Hit London

  • Battle of Boyne

    William defeats James in Ireland. James retreats to France.
  • Mary Dies

    The three kingdoms are left with William as its only ruler after Mary's death. Neither James or William had a child to take after their rule.
  • Act of Settlement is Passed

  • England and Scotland Become One Country

  • Queen Anne Dies

    Queen Anne dies and George I becomes the first of the Hanoverians to succeeded.
