We could invite the refugees to help in farming , the mainstay of the area 's economy. Also we can create employment opportunities for them and hire them to work at local shops and factories. The women can be employed in house cleaning or as waitresses at the local restaurants. Men can be employed in farming or as craftmen at local businesses while those who have studied at university a science can work as scientists here . -
The ways your school can help ( or the community )
We can donate old clothes , toys , books or cook food for them. We can invite refugee children to birthday parties. We can encourage our children to be friends with the refugee children and older students to help younger refugee children with their homework. In addition we could organize a fund-raising event like a ball. Also, we can teach them greek or volunteer a specific skill of our that could be helpful. -
The potential benefits for local community
Refugees will definitely boost the local economy by spending money in local shops which means that local economy will be developed. Plus local businesses can reinforce their manpower by hiring refugees and of course in the end we become better persons and a better community.
