  • Boston Tea Party

    King George made the colonists pay an unreasonable tax on tea. Colonists threw tea that was shipped from Great Britain into the Boston harbor to protest the tax on tea. Once word reached King George, he ordered his troops to impose marshal law on the colonists, which caused them to revolt.

  • Intolerable Acts

    Britain imposed the 5 Coercive Acts outraging the colonists causing revolts.

  • Battle of Lexington

    The British fought the colonists and lost. The colonists now believe they can achieve independence from Great Britain.

  • Declaration of Independence

    Our Founding Fathers wrote the Declaration of Independence. King George did not want to release the colonies into self-rule. He then sent troops to fight the colonial revolution.

  • Articles of Confederations

    The colonists have won the revolution. Our Founding Fathers, once again, wrote a new series of laws know as the Articles of Confederation. Thus formally creating a new nation know as the United States of America.
