    Archduke Johann of Austria accepts the nomination to be a constitutional monarch for the Frankfurt Assembly. This is significant because it is the first time a large German power recognized the will of the people to achieve a unite Germany.   • Treaty of London

    This was signed in secret in collaboration between Italy and the Entente on April 26, 1915. It promised Italy lands beyond its current borders that it claimed were part of its 'nation' and solidify claims elsewhere. Shows peak of pre-war nationalist fervor.     "Mit der SPD" or with the SPD. It is an election poster form the first West German election for the Social Democratic Party. It promises that East and West Germany would be united even excluding the lands ceded to Poland after the war.
