These agreements included allowing the New Mexico and Utah territories to decide whether to allow slavery, outlawing the slave trade in Washington, D.C. It lead to a civil war because some people didn't agree with it still.

    The Kansas Nebraska Act was passed on May 30, 1854 by the U.S. Congress. it allowed all people in the territories of Kansas and Nebraska to decide for themselves whether or not to allow slavery within their borders.slavery was no allowed north of 36°30´. The anti-slavery people started the violence and led by John Brown.

    Dred Scott was going with his master to Wsiconsin and when he got there dred said that he was a free man because he was in a free state. He argued to the supreme justice he was free but they denied that he wasn't free because he wasn't a citizen.
