    In California, Roy and Walt Disney form the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studios. They had a contract to create a series called "Alice Comedy" which was about a real girl living in an animated world. About 55 films were made in this series over the next four years.

    Mickey Mouse was created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. The first Mickey Mouse film was called, "Steamboat Willie".

    The first feature-length animated film was released. It was called "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves".

    Disneyland opens in Anaheim, California. It cost $17 million to create.
