Trail of Tears
Between 1790 and 1830 Georgia's population had gretly increased and with that population increase came the pressure on the Cherokee Indians. In 1830 Congress passed the "Indian Removal Act" Which declared that the Native Americans were to be militarily removed from Georgia to a reservation elsewhere. Many Natives died along the forced journey and the path they took while being removed became known as the 'Trail of Tears' -
