The Zoetrope
The Zoetrope created the effect of a moving picture. The first zoetrope was created in China around 180 AD by the inventor Ting Huan. It consisted of translucent paper or mica panels and it was hung over a lamp. The rising air from the lamp would make the pictures move if the lamp was spun at the correct speed.
