At 8:46 AM, the hijackers aboard Flight 11 crash into the floors 93-99 of the North Tower, killing everyone on board and hundreds of people in the building. -
Second Plane Crashes
At 9:03 AM, hijackers crash United Airlines flight 175 into the South Tower. The plane crashed into floors 75-85. -
Third Plane Crashes
At 9:37 AM, the third plane crashes into the Pentagon, killing 59 aboard and 125 military and civillian personell -
The South Tower
The South Tower collapses at 9:59 AM -
Fourth Plane Crashes
The passengers on the fourth hijacked plane learn about the twin towers collapsing and the pentagon. The passengers then attempt to take over the plane. Hijackers then deliberately crash the plane into a Pennsylvania field, killing all people aboard the plane. This happened at 10:07 AM. -
The North Tower
The North Tower collapses at 10:28 AM. This was 102 minutes after the plane had struck the building. -
George Bush is Informed
President Bush is informed of the planes hitting the World Trade Centers at 8:50 AM. White House Chief of Staff, Andrew Card had told the President. Bush had been visiting a pre-school in Florida. -
All Flights Grounded
At 9:42 AM, for the first time in history, the FAA all flights over or bound for the U.S.. -
Addressing the Nation
President Bush addresses the nation and describes what had been going on and that the World Trade Centers having planes crash was on purpose. Bush told the nation it had been an act of terror and then declares war on terror. 8:30 PM. -
First Flight
At 7:59 AM, the first flight, American Airlines Flight 11 took off from Boston Logan's International Airport. This plane was a Boeing 767 with 92 people aboard. The plane was scheduled to land in Los Angeles. -
Second Flight
The second flight had taken off at 8:14 AM. This was a United Airlines Flight with 65 people aboard. This was supposed to also land in Los Angeles and took off from Boston. -
Third Flight
At 8:20 AM, the third flight had taken off. This was an American Airlines Flight taking off from Dulles International Airport. The flight was headed to Los Angeles with 64 people aboard. -
Fourth Flight
At 8:41 AM, United Airlines flight 93 takes off. This plane took off from Newark International Airport, headed to San Francisco. The plane had 44 people aboard. It previously had been scheduled to take off at 8:00 AM with the other hijacked flights. -
