1993 Bombing
Years before terrorists flew two airplanes into the sides of the World Trade Center, another terrorist by the name Ramzi Yousef and some of his friends planted and detonated a bomb in the underground portion of one of the twin towers. Luckily, only six people died, but over 1,000 were hurt and the building was out of use until it could be repaired. -

Nobody expected that a group of Islamic extremists would hijack two planes and ram them into the side of the Twin Towers until it actually happened. Almost 3,000 people were killed by the end of it and countless more injured both physically and emotionally. -

In memory of the tragedy that took place there, a memorial was built on the foundations of the World Trade Center, honoring the thousands who died there. -
Construction of the Freedom Tower
To replace the great economic loss that came with the destruction of the World Trade Center, the Freedom Tower, or 1 World Trade Center, was constructed. -
Freedom Tower Completed
After ten years of construction, Freedom Tower, the building meant to replace the destroyed World Trade Center, was finally complete.
