Intel Processors
-
First Micro processor
This is just the first micro processor. Though this dominated all other electronics at the time, Intel didn't create anything new until the 70's and the 80s -
First Micro Computer
Intel teamed up with IBM to make the first mircroprocessing computer -
Faster 8080 processors
This began the early era of the Pentium Family, and these have upgraded from an 8 bit processor to 16 bit processors -
Supplier with IBM
-
Invented 486 Processors
These Processors have now upgraded from a 16 bit to 32 bit. What bits mean is the amount of information that a computer can processor when running a program. The more bits, the more efficent the computer will be. Most computers now have 64 bit, some 32 bit, and some even 128 bit systems! -
The "Pentinum" Processor had become the popular name
-
P5 and P6 Processors Established
This is when Intel started to commit to making a new processor every two years -
"Intel Inside" advertisement
They made their slogan "intel inside" just for advertisement reasons -
P5 processor was introduced
This is when Intel formally introduced the Pentium Processor Family, and started to make more processors in the 90s and in early 2000 -
P6 introduced
The "P" in these processors are meant to be Pentium, This is the stage where they started making families of Processors -
Pentium ll established
The processor prior to that is the Pentium Pro, but this processor is basically an improvement of the Penitum Pro. -
High End Processors got slow
The Processors that they have made haven't been upgraded to new things, because the only thing that they have been doing was adding more processors to make faster products. There was more demand for faster processors by PC companies, because users wanted more power. -
Itanium Processor dominates
This is the processor that sets off the 2000 era of processors. -
Partnership with Mac
Macintosh couldn't use the PC designed processors, so Intel had to make a few tweaks to this, and soon, they made a whole line of macs running on Intel Processors. -
Core 2 duo
Even in 2010 it is a good processor, that is what our school laptops run on, but at the time this was the fastest processor, because not was it designed to be a fast processor, with two processors inside, but this is a 64 bit designed processor. This came in a solo processor, duo processor, and quad processor. This stayed the fastest of the time for longer than most processors. -
The new 2010 i core processors
These processors come in differnet types of processors. i3 has 4 processors, because when you count processors, it starts at 0, so it has a count of 0-3. This one has three processors. the i5 has 3 processors, but they are faster than the i3. The i7 has 7 processors and even though they don't run at the same rate that the i5 do, they are faster than the i5 because there are more processors, and this adds up to out power the i5.
